Community Health Network’s visionary nursing leaders have cultivated a culture of nursing excellence that attracts and retains what we believe is the top nursing talent in central Indiana. At the core of this culture you will find philanthropy plays a critical role in our effort to advance the nursing practice. It’s a key component to our nursing network strategy, and donors help fund nursing education, celebration, innovation and research.

With the support of our generous donors, Community Health Network Foundation’s unrivaled support of nursing is making a substantial impact in counteracting a national nursing workforce shortage and simultaneously raising the quality of patient and family care throughout our network. In fact, we believe our support contributes to our network’s status of being nursing agency-free for the past five years.

Scholarship-driven education is key to our success. Since 2006, our donors have helped fund more than $1.6 million in nursing scholarships. Those scholarships have not only increased the medical knowledge of hundreds of nurses, but also generated more than 400 years of employment commitments from each of the recipients. We have also awarded more than 126 scholarships and tuition assistance gifts to many  of our employees enrolled in Ivy Tech nursing programs and related courses of study. And, donors also help fund opportunities for post-graduate continuing education through certifications, conferences and seminars.

Our support provides celebration opportunities to nurses nominated by patients and families at a monthly awards ceremony and also allows teams of nurses to explore innovations in health care through an allocation to support five clinical research projects and to host a nursing symposium.

Please make a gift to support our commitment to nurses.
