Donations come from two Indiana professional sports teams
Community Health Network Foundation is the benefactor of strategic business partnerships formed with Community Health Network, the Indiana Fever and the Indianapolis Indians. The network sponsorships, which support strategic business plans addressing breast and heart health, also contain charitable opportunities that have generated more than $48,000 this year. Inspired by an emotional team visit to Community Regional Cancer Care where they met many brave patients, the Indiana Fever decided to host a live auction to raise money for our support of breast health. Following Community’s Breast Health Awareness Night on August 6, the post-game auction was an opportunity for fans to purchase pink jerseys worn by Fever players during the game. Thanks to Fever fans, the auction raised a total of $44,085, with 100 percent of the money going to our Breast Health Fund and the future Community Breast Care Health Center.
The Indianapolis Indians closed their 2010 season by making an unrestricted donation to our foundation and other local charitable organizations. Throughout the season, the Indians logged the number of walks at all home games and converted the number of walked miles into a financial contribution. This year, the “Walks for Health” program generated a $4,000 donation. This is the third year the Indians have made a “Walks for Health” donation to support our mission to enhance health and well-being in central Indiana.
